"Student empathy and social responsibility grew consistently across all four dimensions from 2021 to 2026, with feedback scores rising from 3.93 to 4.76, confirming significant improvement in learning satisfaction."

Multi-dimensional Competency Analysis
Over the 2021–2026 period, students showed steady growth across all four social-emotional dimensions. Empathy and Caring climbed from 8.3 (2021) to 9.0 (2026), Sense of Social Responsibility from 7.7 to 9.0 (+16.9%), Problem Solving from 7.6 to 9.1 (+19.7%), and Social Application from 7.9 to 9.1 (+15.2%). All four dimensions reached their peak in 2026, as highlighted by the top-scoring bars.

Longitudinal Performance Analysis
Student Feedback Scores trended steadily upward from 3.93 (2023) to 4.49 (2024) to 4.67 (2025), reaching 4.76 in 2026—a gain of +21.1% since 2023. This sustained improvement highlights rising student satisfaction and the deepening impact of service learning on empathy, social responsibility, and overall development.
Measuring Student Impact: Growth in Engagement, Reflection, and Meaningful Learning.
The 2024–2026 results show substantial growth in student outcomes compared to the 2021–2023 baseline. Meaningful Service led the gains with +12.89% (8.33 to 9.40), while Project Understanding and Exposure to Diversity rose 11.93% and 11.33% respectively. All 10 outcome areas achieved statistically significant gains (p < 0.005), with 8 reaching p < 0.001 and 2 at p = 0.002. These consistent, highly significant improvements across every dimension highlight the deepened and far-reaching impact of service learning on holistic student development.
"All 10 outcome areas achieved statistically significant gains — service learning demonstrably enhances holistic student development."

Measuring Elderly Impact: Service Learning's Role in Wellbeing and Mental Health
Following service learning interventions, the largest gains were seen in emotional wellbeing: 17.0% of seniors reported reduced anxiety and depression, and 12.8% noted less pain/discomfort. More modest improvements appeared in mobility (4.3%), usual activities (4.3%), and self-care (3.2%). Among the 74.5% of elderly participants who accepted student engagement, preferences split between Yunnan (37.2%) and Hong Kong (23.4%), reflecting strong cross-cultural interest and openness to digital experiences.
"Cross-generational understanding and technological engagement of elderly are enhanced significantly."

EQ-5D-5L Assessment Results
The EQ-5D-5L results show emotional wellbeing yielded the largest gains: 17.0% reduction in anxiety/depression and 12.8% decrease in pain/discomfort. More modest improvements were observed in mobility (4.3%), usual activities (4.3%), and self-care (3.2%), highlighting the emotional benefits of intergenerational service engagement.

Gender Distribution
The survey enrolled 72 elderly participants from Malipo County, Yunnan Province, with a balanced gender distribution of 39 males (54.2%) and 33 females (45.8%), drawn from various community settings including elderly homes and community centers.

Cross-Cultural Engagement
74.5% of elderly participants (54 out of 72) expressed acceptance of student engagement, with 25.5% (18 participants) showing non-acceptance. This high acceptance rate validates the effectiveness of the cross-cultural service learning program.

Geographic Analysis
Among participants, 37.2% preferred Yunnan-related content and 23.4% favored Hong Kong content, while 39.4% showed no preference. This balanced distribution across Yunnan, Hong Kong, and neutral responses reflects strong cross-cultural appeal.

Media Type Analysis
Participants showed a clear preference for video content (65.3%) over 3D space experiences (34.7%), guiding our content strategy toward more video-based storytelling while retaining immersive elements for a richer digital experience.
Measuring Elderly Impact: Details of EQ-5D-5L Outcomes After Service Learning.
Using the EQ-5D-5L framework, post-test results revealed a significant improvement in Anxiety/Depression (17%, p = 0.032) among older adults after service learning. Although minor declines were observed in physical dimensions such as Mobility and Self-Care, the data suggests a stronger positive effect on emotional rather than physical wellbeing.
"Mental health and overall wellbeing of elderly are improved significantly."
